Check the Background of Every Technicians

Your technicians may be artistically gifted when it comes to cutting hair, or giving clients a complete makeover, but that does not mean that they should be hired based on just those merits.

Conduct a thorough background check. There are so many times salons have gotten into legal trouble because of technicians that were hired based on reference, than background checks.

Hire someone who has a year’s experience but no clientele of their own. Make sure to test them out, conduct a proper interview, and check with their previous place of employment to see if they are good.

Don’t Obscure Your Business

While it may be tempting to open your salon near a secluded area to avoid traffic and noise, this is unwise; you’ll end up obscuring your business.

You need to be located in a place that is near a busy street or shopping center. Successful salons understand the importance of visibility, and often use layouts and signs that stand out amongst the crowd.

Remember that as a business, you need to stand out. Don’t avoid putting up a sign in front of your salon. If your clients don’t know who you are, how are you going to attract them?
